In Pennsylvania it is 3 points on your license for failure to stop for a stop sign. Under Maryland traffic statutes though points from other states are not ordinarily transferred to your MD license, except for the most serious violations. The violation itself though will likely make its way onto your driving record. Maryland and PA are both part of a Non-resident Violators Compact which allows states to assist each other in enforcing driving laws. An out-of-state violation that is not taken care of, either through paying the fine imposed or appearing in court, will mean that the state that wrote the citation may send a non-compliance notice to the driver's home state Motor Vehicle Agency. When the MD MVA receives such a notice they send the driver the notice as well as a Maryland MVA notice of suspension. This notice includes a suspension date which the driver must prove that the violation was resolved or will face the suspension of their driving privileges in Maryland.
