Q

I mailed my car insurance payment and I just received my statement that says I am past due. We had a very bad ice storm with power outages and the post office system was messed up. What do I do about that past due notice? Do I have a late payment? Is there anyway to get it credited back to the account due to the storm?

A

If you have your policy through CarInsurance.com you can contact us at 1-855-430-7753 so we can determine if you payment has been received since the past due notice went out. Alternatively, you can log into your account and select the 'Payment History' button. This will tell you all the car insurance payments that have been posted to your account. You can make a payment online by selecting a payment option (credit card or checking account).

If your insurance policy is through another insurance company call them as soon as possible to find out if your payment was received and explain the ice storm situation. By contacting your insurance carrier you will be able to find out if there is a late charge due or if it can be waived due to the ice storm that caused postal problems.

Auto cheap insurance is available online through CarInsurance.com.
