Car Insurance Question  I live in the state of Florida and my husband has moved out of state. He abondoned the home, I have auto insurance and I would like to remove him from my policy completely. Since we are still legally married, can I still remove him?

To find out if you can completely remove your husband from your auto policy, contact your insurance agent. Explain the situation of how your husband has abandoned the home and moved out of state. In order to remove him from your policy your insurance company might request that you provide them with proof that he is no longer living at your residence.

It could be more complicated if he left with a car that is partly or fully in your name. If this is the case you could be held responsible if insurance is taken off of the vehicle and he is involved in an incident. Your insurance agent should be able to help you figure out what your options are with how things currently stand with your husband.
