Car Insurance Question  I have a parent who is 88 and recently tried to renew her license but was denied for failure of an eye test. She is still PAYING AUTO INSURANCE FULL COVERAGE. What would happen if she or someone else has a accident in her vehilcle? She is the only one rated by insurance company and has not told them of her non-renewal

Your 88 year old parent should contact her insurance company and apprise them of the situation regarding the non-renewal of her driver's license. Since she does not currently hold a valid license, it could be possible that her insurance company would have the right to deny a claim if she was in an accident. If someone else is driving her vehicle they might be covered under her policy, but only her insurance company will be able to tell you the specifics of her policy and give you an accurate answer to this question.

Your elderly parent should contact her insurance company to find out what suggestions they have. If she will no longer be able to drive, she might consider selling her vehicle to someone who can insure it and drive her around. Many states' DMVs have an alternative transportation database to help people who can no longer drive.

If anyone in your household or family needs a car insurance quotes we would be happy to provide it for them.
