Car Insurance Question  I had an accident and my car insurance expired the day before, what should I do?

You should contact your insurance agent to verify that your insurance had expired prior to the accident. If your policy had expired you should work on getting it reinstated so that you do not continue to drive without insurance. As for the accident, if your car insurance was expired and you were at-fault you will likely have to pay for the damages personally.

Driving without insurance is a serious offense in most all states, so if you were cited for not having insurance there are penalties you will have to deal with. If your insurance company does not want to renew your policy you can get an automobile insurance quote here.
