Car Insurance Question  I was just wondering because one of my friends got pulled over - would his insurance go up for getting pulled over because he was talking on the phone and almost hit a cop because he couldn't see him because of the cops lights flashing when he was directing traffic? Also isn't it just 3 points off your liscense for that happening?

Your friend's insurance premium rates may or may not go up because of his traffic violations. Insurance companies differ on what affects their rates. If your friend received a minor citation it is likely not to raise his rates much if this is his only infraction. If the violation was a more serious offense it could make the premium be more expensive.

You did not state what exactly your friend got ticketed or cited for or in what state the incident occurred in so we are unable to tell you how many points it would be on his driver's license. To find out this information he can call the number on his citation or contact the DMV.

If your friend wants to find out more about his insurance company's rating system he can contact his state's insurance regulatory body.
