Car Insurance Question  I just purchased a 99 Mazda Miata. It was supposed to be perfect and Retail value about $12,600. I just found out it will have a salvage title due to previous history. The car looks great and mechanically seems OK. What would you estimate that the Retail Value of the care would be now knowing these facts?

In many states, cars with salvage titles are prohibited from being registered but some states allow the title to be changed to rebuilt after an inspection proving it to be street worthy. I would check to make sure you can register the vehicle or you may have to go back to who sold the car to you.

The retail value of the Mazda Miata will differ depending on the transmission type, trim, mileage and your location. After that is figured out the value will then be brought down more because of the salvage title. To find out what the retail value of the car is with the salvage title try going to sites such as: Edmunds.com, Kbb.com or Nada.com.

Check with your insurance carrier to make sure they will insure the Miata with the salvaged title. If they will not insure you, contact us for a car insurance online quote.
