Part of the conditions for a G1 licence is that you must drive with a fully licensed driver (with 4 years of experience) who must sit in the front seat with you. By breaking this condition the usual penalty is your licence being suspended for 30 days. So this will likely push back the date that you will be qualified for a G2 licence. Driving a car with no plates is likely a major infraction to the Ministry of Transportation so you will have to check with them to see if there are demerit points or a fine that you will have to pay. As a G1 driver if you receive two or more demerit points you will be sent a warning letter. If you receive six or more you may be interviewed so that you licence is not suspended. If you receive 9 or more points the penalties are even more severe. Our learning center has articles and news headlines that can help you as a new driver on the road.
