Car Insurance Question  My truck slid down my driveway backward on the ice and crashed into the fence. I was not in it at that time and would like to know if this falls under my collision or my comp?

Your truck hitting a fence would normally be covered under the collision portion of your insurance policy. Collision insurance covers damage to your car when it hits another vehicle or object - such as a fence. Your deductible will need to be paid though.

If the fence your truck damaged was not yours, the owner will likely be able to claim this against your property damage liability coverage. Property damage pays for when your vehicle damages someone else's property such as a fence or more commonly their car. Contact your insurance agent to find out more about your specific policy and also to make sure that you will be covered since there was not a driver in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
