Car Insurance Question  I am buying my first car in Missouri and I will have to register it here. I am currently covered under my parents insurance. My parents live in Vermont. Is there anyway to add my car under a New England insurance policy?

If you register your vehicle in Missouri you will need to insure your vehicle in Missouri as well. In MO you have 30 days from the date of purchase to title and pay sales tax on your newly purchased vehicle. You will need to show proof of insurance when registering your new vehicle.

Missouri law requires all auto owners to carry liability limits of 35/50/10, meaning $25,000 per person for bodily injury, $50,000 for bodily injury per accident and $10,000 for property damage per accident. The law also requires uninsured motorist coverage of $25,000 for bodily injury per person and $50,000 for bodily injury per accident. The Missouri's Department of Insurance site - insurance.mo.gov - has a consumer shopping guide for auto insurance that can help explain rates and discounts.

We are ready to help you get your Missouri auto insurance needs by starting your quoting process now.
