I was just involved in an accident that totalled my vehicle. I will be loosing my licenses for 6 months so I will no longer have a vehicle on my policy. Should I cancel my insurance or keep it up because I know I will have difficulty getting coverage again?

Since you no longer have a vehicle to insure and will be without a license for 6 months, due to a suspension or revocation, you will need to speak with your insurance company to find out if you will even be able to continue your current insurance policy. It is doubtful under the circumstances of not having a car or a valid driver's license.

If your insurance company will not continue your policy, find out what steps you will need to take to get insurance once your get your license reinstated and purchase a replacement vehicle for the one that was totaled. Whatever you do, do not allow your insurance to cancel for non-payment because that will make it much more difficult for you to find car insurance once your license is restored.

When you get a new vehicle and have your license back it might end up being the time to shop around for a new insurance policy.
