Is it illegal in the state of California for your car to be on your parents policy if you are married?

We know of no California law that would prevent you from being on your parent's policy if you are now married but you should check with someone knowing California law statutes to make certain this is true. Though it might not be illegal to stay on your parent's insurance policy their insurance company should be made aware of the situation.

Your parent's insurance policy might have an issue with it, especially if you no longer reside in your parent's household. The insurance company may request you start your own policy with your husband. If the insurance company is not made aware of your married status your parents could get in trouble with them.

If you would like to start shopping around for car insurance online for you and your husband start here and now.
