Car Insurance Question  I have Texas AAA as my auto insurance company. I got cited for illegal U-Turn but I am going to take a driving course to dismiss the case and it will prevent me from getting points on my license. Will my auto insurance go up next year when its time to renew? Will they find out about this citation I got?

According to the Texas Driver Training and Education (TEA) site, you are able to dismiss one traffic ticket every 12 months by taking an approved driving safety course. Typically if you attend traffic school to remove a ticket from your driving record most insurance companies will not use this violation, if they are even aware of it, to raise premium rates.

If you want to know more about TX auto insurance companies, such as AAA, rating systems you can contact the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) because they must file their rates with this agency each year.
