Car Insurance Question  How many points have to be on your driving record in Texas before they will take away your drivers license?

In the state of Texas they will suspend your license if you have what they term "habitual traffic violations". The definiton of this is a person who receives 4 or more moving violations in a period of 12 months or has 7 or more moving violations in a period of months. If you receive and are convicted of this many violations you are subject to have your license suspended per transportation code 521.292.

You can check with TX department of public safety - www.txdps.state.tx.us - to see if there is also a point limit or just the number of violation convictions as listed above.Texas auto insurance quotes are available here.
