Car Insurance Question  If your car door hits and dents the side door of another car while parked, under what coverage is that assessed?

If you are the one opening the door and causing the damage to the other vehicle's side door the person's whose vehicle has been dented should file a claim under your property damage liability insurance coverage.

If instead someone had hit and dented your car but you did not know who did it, you would file a claim with your insurance company under physical damage (comprehensive and collision) coverage and have to pay a deductible.
