In order to get your driver's license back to an active, valid status so you can retain your driving privileges you will need to contact the Department of Motor Vehicles in the area in which you received the speeding ticket. The revocation of your license could be due to not paying for your ticket or for speeding in such a manner that your license was revoked. Either way the DMV should be able to tell you what you need to do to correct the situation. If the ticket was issued in North Carolina, you need to contact the NC DMV or DOT. According to the NCDOT site, your driving privilege can be revoked for 30 days if convicted of driving a vehicle more than 15 mph over a speed limit of 55 mph. Your license can be revoked for 60 days if convicted of this same offense a second time or found to be speeding and recklessly driving at the same time. The DMV will suspend or revoke your license for other offenses as well, such as speeding over 75 mph.
