I have a 19 yr old son who lives at home. He bought and insured his own car. Recently, its motor went out so he is without wheels. Do we have to insure him on our cars so that he can drive them?

You should contact your insurance company to find out if you need to add your son onto your automobile insurance policy, for him to be covered while driving your vehicles. Because your son lives at home and thus is a household member, it is likely that your insurance company would have already wanted him on your policy since most insurance carriers request all licensed drivers within a household to be listed.

If you want a quote on your vehicles to cover everyone in your household driving them, you can start here by getting a free car insurance quote.
