Taking either a driving course or alcohol class because of receiving a DUI typically does not help with your insurance premiums. DUI school is normally a component of the penalties that are ordered by the court after being convicted of a DUI, DWI or OUI - depending on what your state refers to driving under the influence as. States vary on their rules and requirements regarding DUI school. Some states or jurisdictions mandate that one participates and completes a DUI course if the person wants to regain any driving privileges, meaning a full license or conditional / restricted license. Some states require DUI classes be attended upon any DUI conviction. You will need to contact your insurance company to find out if they will need a copy of your DUI school completion certificate. It is doubtful that it would lower your premium since the course was due to a DUI conviction and probably mandated by the courts. Some insurance companies do give discounts for driver safety course, etc so check with your current carrier to see what type of discounts they might have to offer.
