Car Insurance Question  I received a DUI in June 2003 in California. Due to deployments with the Army I was only able to complete 3 months of my 6 month classes. I now want to buy a car of my own, can I do so? Is there something saying that I cannot have a car in my name if I have a DUI in CA?

There is no law that we are aware of that would not allow you to have a car in your name because of a previous DUI conviction in California. What you need to find out though is if your license has been suspended or revoked because of not finishing your alcohol education classes that were likely court appointed. If your license is not valid than it might be difficult to find a dealership that will sell you a vehicle due to this fact.

To make certain that you have taken care of all outstanding issues with regards to your 2003 DUI and that you have a valid license, you should contact the CA Department of Motor Vehicles.Once you have done so and are ready to put a car in your name we can help you obtain car insurance for orange county or other areas.
