Alabama and Kentucky are both members of the Driver License Compact (DLC) which requires member states to report tickets received by a driver out of state back to the state where they received their driver's license. In Kentucky going 11 to 15 mph over the speed limit is a 3 point offense. In Alabama speeding in excess of the posted limits is 2 points. Since Kentucky will report this speeding citation and conviction to your home state of Alabama if you plead guilty and pay the fine, it will most likely show up on your AL driving record. You will need to check with the Alabama Department of Public Safety to find out if points will be assessed. If you do not take care of your ticket, either by paying the fine or going to court, Kentucky will likely suspend your license. If this happens the Non-Resident Violator Compact, of which both KY and AL are members, would require your home state of Alabama to also suspend your driver's license.
