You as a driver may not need insurance since you will be unable to drive during your 2 year license suspension for the DWI. If you own a car though and want to maintain registration on it during the time period your driving privileges are suspended, the vehicle will need to have insurance on it.

If there is someone that is also on the registration on the vehicle or is a co-owner than they may be able to carry the insurance on the vehicle and drive you around while you are unable to drive.

So if you are not driving but your want someone to drive you around in your car, it will need to have insurance on it. There are insurance companies that will allow someone else to insure your car, even if that person has not insurable interest in the vehicle.
