In your questions and answers section you say that most insurance companies will allow people with learner permits to purchase insurance for a limited time. But the company you directed me to for a quote does not. Can you tell me which companies do allow this?

Of the insurance companies that we work with, Direct General will allow you to obtain auto insurance if you have only a learner's permit. After the inception of your insurance policy with this insurance company, they will require you to acquire a regular, full driver's license within thirty (30) days. A surcharge may or may not apply.

If Direct General, and the many other insurance companies that we work with, do not offer the type of auto insurance coverage you need at this time, try contacting your state's insurance regulator for a list of companies that could help you but keep us in mine once you obtain your full driver's license.At that time get an online car insurance quote.
