Car Insurance Question  Can I insure a car in Florida that has a lien under somebody else's name in New Jersey?

Typically to insure a vehicle you will need to show insurable interest in it, thus being an owner of the vehicle, co-signer or lien holder. If you are able to do so than you can likely get Florida auto insurance on the vehicle.

If you do not have insurable interest in the car, you may still be able to get insurance on the vehicle through Esurance. In some cases they will allow you to purchase a car insurance policy even if you do not own the vehicle.Start here to see about getting a Florida car insurance quote.

If the car is going to reside in Florida and has not yet been registered there, check with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (HSMV) to find out how to get it properly registered and titled according to Florida law.
