| Your home state of Indiana and Ohio, where you received your ticket, are both members of the Drivers License Compact. This means that the Ohio BMV will report back to Indiana's BMV information regarding your conviction of this speeding citation. In Ohio it is a 4 point offense for driving 30 mph or more over the speed limit. In Indiana though it is a 6 point offense speeding 25 mph in excess of the posted speed limit. Since you are licensed in Indiana, it would appear that you would receive the IN points assessment. The Indiana BMV has decided that for moving violation convictions, which IN has a corresponding violation, the offense will be placed on your driving record along with the allotted points. To find out other penalties that Ohio might give you for driving at such a high rate of speed, contact the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and/or the court entity listed on the speeding citation.
