Both the state of New York and your home state of Florida are part of the Drivers License Compact (DLC). This Compact requires member states to report information on moving violations by motorist back to the state where the driver received their license to drive. So the NY courts or NYS DMV will inform the Florida HSMV of your speeding citation.
Once the HSMV is informed of the New York speeding violation this FL state agency will place points on the driver's FL license if the ticket is a point-accessible violation according to Florida Statute 322.27(3). Speeding is one such point-accessible violation. In Florida it is 4 points for 16 MPH or more over the lawful or posted speed.
The HSMV also notes that Florida law does not allow any school or program to remove points for a ticket received in another state either. So it appears that if you are convicted of this NYS speeding ticket that 4 points will be accessed to your Florida license and unfortunately FL does not allow traffic school or driving courses to get rid of the points from this out of state ticket.
