Typically your garaging address is where you reside a majority of the time regardless of where you park your car occasionally. Even though you use your friend's garaging address to keep your car, you likely still need to drive to where you live, by using your vehicle on a regular basis. So normally your residential address would be the same as your garaging address.
Insurance companies’ guidelines can differ though so I would suggest that you contact your insurance company to determine what rules they have for garaging addresses. If how you are keeping the vehicle is acceptable to them and allowable according to their underwriting guidelines than you may be able to use the garaging address. It should not then be considered fraud if you have discussed the issue with you and they confirm that this arrangement would be within their rules.
If this cannot be done, you might think about shopping around for auto insurance and getting rates from other insurance providers to see if you can lower your premiums. You can start here with us by getting car insurance comparison rates for Philadelphia and other parts of Pennsylvania.
