To the best of our knowledge a G1 licensed driver is able to buy a car even though they cannot drive the vehicle on their own. We have had G1 drivers write in to request insurance on vehicles that they have purchased.

There may be age or other restrictions though to buying a car that we are unaware of so we recommend checking with the Ministry of Transportation to make certain you are allowed by law to purchase a vehicle in your current situation.
