If my sister (who has her license) drives my car, that has insurance on it, and gets into an accident (her fault) while taking her son to school, will this incident be taken care of by our insurance company?

You will need to contact your insurance company to find out for certain if your policy will cover the accident that your sister was in while using your car to take her son to school. In general an insurance company would cover this since you gave your sister, a licensed driver, permission to use your vehicle and thus your insurance coverages are usually extended to vehicle during that time.

Some insurance companies do have exclusions or if your sister frequently uses your vehicle then your insurance company may have issues with her not being listed as a driver on the policy. Due to these items that may come up during the claims process, you will need to read over your policy and confirm with your insurance agent that your coverages were in force for this at-fault accident while your sister was operating your vehicle.
