Car Insurance Question  My daughter, age 24, moved out of the house and to a different city, but close by. Can my husband still carry her car on our car insurance policy?

Insurance companies' guidelines differ so to get a concrete answer to your question you or your husband will need to contact your insurance agent to find out if your 24 year old daughter can remain on your policy.

In general though, since she has moved out and is living in a different city and thus is garaging the car at a different location it is doubtful that you will be able to continue your auto insurance coverage on your daughter's motor vehicle. Insurance companies typically do not insure vehicles that reside at a different household or for more than one household onĀ one policy.

If the daughter is at college in a different city it may be thought of differently by the insurance company and she may be allowed to remain on the policy depending upon the insurance carrier's guidelines.

Your daughter can start comparison shopping for her own car insurance policy, if it is needed, here with us by getting an auto insurance quote.
