You can contact the court listed on your ticket to find out what proof of insurance they will take but it would be highly unlikely that they would accept insurance on another vehicle as proof of liability insurance on the one your were driving. If the car you were driving was without insurance on it, insurance on a different vehicle does not cover that vehicle to the state minimum requirements.
Showing proof of insurance normally means showing that the vehicle you were driving would have been covered by an insurance policy if you had been in an accident while operating it. An insurance policy on a different vehicle would not give you this coverage and thus the court will likely refuse it and require you to purchase liability insurance on the uninsured vehicle, as well as hand down other penalties.
Depending upon the state in which you reside driving without insurance penalties can include registration suspension, license suspension, vehicle impoundment, fines and/or jail time. To get insurance quotes for all 3 of your automobiles, click here.
