My car was legally parked in the parking lot where I work, which is public property. There was no one in the car, and I know the person who hit me. I live in Michigan. Which one of our insurance policies pays?

The responsible party should pay for the damage regardless of which policy pays.

You can file it with your insurance company (subject to deductibles) and they will likely go after the responsible party or their insurance company.

For your protection, you should file a police report of the incident.
