Most states require you to maintain your SR22 for 3 consecutive years.
If it cancels, most states require you carry it for 3 more years so that you maintain it for 3 consecutive years. It is up to the state and the regulatory entity. We have seen situations where the state DMV won't waive the requirement until the customer maintains it for 3 years and in Florida we have seen situations where the state allows the license holder to waive the requirement.
