If I have full coverage insurance on my vehicle, does it cover flooding?

Although most states require some type of coverage for damages you cause to other vehicles, full coverage normally refers to insurance coverage that includes collision and comprehensive coverage which covers the damages caused to your own vehicle.

The comprehensive coverage normally covers your vehicle for damages caused by something other than collision. For example, comprehensive insurance covers damage to your car if it is stolen; or damaged by flood, fire, or animals. It should also cover the loss you described. You can also call the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) at 1-888-CALL FLOOD to learn about Federal Flood Insurance and its relationship to auto insurance.

You should report this loss to your insurance company and discuss the details with a licensed claims adjuster.

car insurance commentsSeems to be true.
car insurance commentsThe car is not in my name. I was supposed to be the buyer and was he was the co- signer. But I was making the payment to build up my credit. So why should I have to pay and my name is not on nothing. The only proof that I have is cancel checks that I make payments on. They tell me he has to do it because he is the buyer and I am not. So i'm just trying to do them best that I know how. He did not let the financial company know that the car has been flooded out or the insurance company knows nothing. So it said he was not going to insure the car. But by law the car is supposed to be full coverage until it is paid for I do know that much. Again I'm not the buyer the is I just the fool making a payment on a car where my name is not on it and why should I still need to pay and I'm not getting nothing out of it. I'm the one stuck with a motor full of water.
