Insurance companies are not necessarily notified of a driver license suspension but will usually find out when they pull the motor vehicle record (MVR) of the drivers listed on your policy during your next renewal period. At this time the insurance company should inform you about how much your daughter speeding violations and suspension has affected your auto insurance policy and rates.
Insurance company guidelines and state laws differ so you may want to check your policy to see if it states that you must inform them of any circumstances or driver license status changes, such as the suspension with restricted driving privileges, which might change your risk factor. Or if your insurance company asks you about any changes, violations, etc by drivers on your policy then you need to tell them of your daughter’s 8 month suspension caused by her points violations.
A rate increase may happen due to your daughter's suspension and/or her bad driving record. Rates are normally set by your own insurance company so you can either find out from your agent about the rating system or from your states insurance regulatory which rates must be filed with.
For consumer help and information on the insurance laws of your state, contact your state’s insurance regulator.
