Car Insurance Question  My pickup truck was parked in front of my house and when I came out it had been badly damaged on the side of the bed. I am unsure how it was damaged and no one saw anything. Likely the bed will need to be replaced. Which of my portion of my insurance covers my truck in such cases? Collision or comprehensive or ?

Your physical damage coverages of either collision or comprehensive will most likely cover the damages you sustained to the truck bed of your vehicle by an unknown entity. It will depend on the type of damages the truck received as to if the claim should be placed under your collision or comprehensive coverage. Or if you have uninsured motorist property damage (UMPD) coverage then this hit and run may be covered under that portion of your policy.

To find out which coverage the damage should be claimed under contact your insurance agent. If he is unable to tell from your detailed description then the claims adjuster put on your case should be able to view the damage to the truck and give you a definitive answer.
