Car Insurance Question  I am in Texas and am looking to get an SR22 policy but am confused. I currently have full coverage and want to keep it. Can I get just an "SR22" for my vehicle and keep my current insurance? I am the owner of my vehicle. Or do I have to cancel my current insurance? Also, is coverage less expensive for single or married persons?

You can not buy a separate policy for an SR-22 if you already have an insurance policy. You will need to cancel your current policy if your insurance company does not offer an SR-22 and purchase a policy with an insurance company that does. You can get an SR-22 insurance quote here.

In general regular car insurance tends to be less expensive for married couples. This may not always be the case though if you as an individual had a clean driving record but when you marry your spouse has a driving history with a "bad" driving record. Your rates may be higher due to the motor vehicle record of another person on your policy with you.
