If your insurance was in effect at the time of the accident then the fact that you broke the law, or at least the restrictions of your license, normally should not cause your insurance company to deny the claims of the other party that you hit.
The property damage portion of the liability policy you have on your vehicle should cover damage you caused to the other person's vehicle in the accident. For your own vehicle's damages to have been covered, instead of you paying out of pocket for them, you would need to have physical damage collision coverage on your vehicle. With this type of policy you would have had to pay a deductible and then the insurance company would have paid for the cost of repairs over that amount.
If you were cited for breaking one of your license's conditions, not having passengers until you have held your license for 6 months, then you will need to take care of the penalties that come with that offense. The local DMV should be able to advise you on what the penalties will consist of.
