Car Insurance Question  Can I get cited for a broken back window?

It will depend upon state laws if you can be cited for a broken back window. If a state, or jurisdiction within a state, feel that a cracked or broken rear window is causing the driver to not be able to see properly then likely you could be ticketed for safety reasons.

Most places won't cite you for this, but those states with serious inspection laws will.

If you are ticketed for this type of offense it may be that the ticket is a "fix-it" citation which would mean if you get the window fixed you could get the ticket dismissed.

To find out if a broken back window is a violation of the law in your area, contact your local Department of Motor Vehicles.
