Car Insurance Question  I recently got married and have 2 vehicles both under my name. I need to get them both insured but only want me listed on the policy. If I tell them I'm married won't the insurance company have to put my husband on too?

Yes, most likely when you inform your insurance company that you are now married and reside with your husband they will want to add him to your policy so he will be covered to drive your cars.

Most insurance companies require policyholders to list all licensed household members on their policy since that these people will normally have access and will probably drive the cars on the policy. In some states if you do not tell your insurance company of all of the drivers in your household it can be deemed misrepresentation, a form of fraud.

If you do not want your husband on your policy then you may be able to have him excluded from the policy. Keep in mind though if you exclude your spouse and he does drive one of your cars and gets into an accident your policy's coverage will not be extended to him in anyway.
