Car Insurance Question  I had heard that non-US citizens do not have to have car insurance, is this at all true in any way?

State insurance laws differ. Some require insurance on the car while others require any registered car to be insured as well as any driver on the roadway. Either way we have not heard of any provision in laws that allow non-citizens not to follow state laws regarding car insurance.

To find out what is insurance requirements a non-citizen must abide by you should contact the state Department of Motor Vehicles or insurance regulator of the state in which you are residing.
