The at-fault party should be responsible for your father's SUV damages through their liability property damage policy but medical expenses for you and your children would normally go through your personal injury protection (PIP). If you yourself do not own a car and have your own insurance, and thus PIP, then you should see if your father's insurance policy and PIP will cover you and your children since you were in his vehicle at the time of the accident.
According to the Oregon Insurance Division, PIP as it is required is Oregon’s version of no-fault insurance. It allows a car owner and your passengers, regardless of who caused an accident, to have insurance coverage for "reasonable and necessary" medical, dental, hospital, surgical, ambulance, and prosthetic services incurred within one year after the date of an injury up to a maximum of $15,000. In Oregon, minimum PIP benefits include limited coverage for loss of earnings, funeral expenses, essential services, and child care.
If you do not have your own insurance policy with PIP coverage and your father's PIP does not cover you and your children then you may see if the at-fault party's bodily injury liability policy will cover you and your 4 children for injuries you sustained in the accident. Check with your father's insurance agent as well as the at-fault party's insurance company to find out what will be covered by each company.
