Car Insurance Question  I have my G1, but I was wondering how long I have to get my G2? It has been nearly 1 year, and I was wondering if there comes a time when I'll have to start over.

In the Canadian province of Ontario a new driver must hold a G1 licence for a minimum of 12 months before attempting the G1 road test but the level 1 license is valid for up to 5 years. To move up to level 2 or G2 status you must pass a road test.

Your G1 or G2 license will expire 5 years after you received your original G1 licence. If you have not passed the G1 and G2 road tests and earned a full G license by within 5 years you will have to need to redo the knowledge test to get a G1 and/or retake the G1 road test to get your G2.
