Is there some kind of insurance I can get for a nearly completed project vehicle, not to drive, just storage, against theft, vandalism, etc? I have not registered it since I purchased it. I have nearly completed restoring it, but until now it has remained in my garage, I am looking to put it outdoors temporarily, and am wondering if there is something I could do to feel safe doing so.

Most insurance companies would require the vehicle to be registered in order to insure it for theft, vandalism and other coverages that you may want from an auto insurance policy. Also you should check with your state to make sure that you do not need registration on the vehicle if you plan to now park it outside.

To get the type of coverage you want on an unregistered project car you will need to contact a specialty auto insurance agent in your area. There are also online specialty agents that specializes in classic auto and specialty auto insurance for collector or project vehicles.
