How long do I need to keep SR22 policy after DUI conviction in State of Virginia?

The time one must carry a SR-22 may vary in Virginia but typically it must be held for 3 years after a DUI/DWI convictions.

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles site states that when three years have elapsed from the effective date of the suspension, the DMV relieves the vehicle owner of the requirement of furnishing proof of financial responsibility. To see if this is true for your situation contact the VA DMV.

In Virginia being convicted of driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or driving while intoxicated and maiming are all kept on your VA driving record for 11 years.
