It does not sound as if your "new" used car would be covered for the engine seizing under your comprehensive coverage since the damage does not appear to be from a covered loss.
The white smoke coming out of the back seems indicative of a mechanical failure of the engine which you would need a warranty from the dealer or auto maker to cover or mechanical breakdown insurance (MBI). Warranties can usually be purchased at dealerships, financial institutes or online.
There are auto insurers such as Geico that offer Mechanical Breakdown Insurance which is designed to protect you from expensive repair bills. A deductible is typically involved but after that is paid MBI normally covers repairs to all mechanical parts of the car - except for maintenance and wear and tear.
If you bought the car from a dealer you may want to see if there was a warranty for the car as part of the purchase price. If you bought the car from a private party in as in/where is condition then unless you separately bought MBI or a warranty on the car then usually you do not have any recourse, though you can check with a lawyer regarding state laws.
