Comprehensive coverage typically covers your car if it is stolen but not personal items stolen out of the car. Some policies may cover items that were attached to the vehicle, such as the manufacturer's original radio but you would need to speak to your agent and claims adjuster to see if this would covered or not.
Personal items, such as your tools and a laptop are likely covered under your homeowners or renters insurance policy if you have such a policy in effect. Contact the insurance agent that you have that coverage through to see what you need to do to make a claim with them. You will likely need to be prepared with descriptions and receipts for all the items so that you can be properly reimbursed.
