The penalty for a conviction of driving with an expired or invalid license, according to the PA Vehicle Code, is a fine of $200.
The exception is if a person charged with this offense can show satisfactory proof of having held a driver's license valid on the last day of the preceding driver's license period and no more than one year has elapsed from the last date for renewal. If this can be done the fine should only be $25.
These fine amounts and penalties may change though as the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code is continuously being amended or updated so check with the PennDOT to find out exactly what penalties you would receive for not renewing your license promptly.
If you were caught driving with an expired license then check with the court listed on your ticket to see if the penalties listed above are still current or if you will receive other penalties and administrative fees.
