If I got a ticket in Arizona and I have a driver's license in Missouri how will it affect my driving record?

Your home state of Missouri and the state which you received the ticket in, Arizona, are both members of the Drivers License Compact. This agreement requires member states to report tickets received by motorists back to the state where they received their license. This means that the AZ speeding ticket conviction would be reported back to MO.

The Missouri Division of Motor Vehicle and Drivers Licensing, part of the MO Department of Revenue (DOR), normally adds points to your record when it receives notice that you were convicted of a traffic violation while your vehicle was in motion for in-state offenses. The MO DOR does not state specifically what it does with out of state traffic violation information. So you can contact the Missouri DMV directly and find out if your Arizona speeding ticket will be added to your record and assigned points and if so how many for your specific traffic violation.

If the AZ speeding citation is added to your MO driving record your insurance company will find out about the traffic offenses the next time they pull your motor vehicle record and see the violation listed on your driving record.
