If your auto insurance policy only includes property damage liability coverage and personal injury protection (PIP) then no, your car would not be covered to be fixed. You need physical damage coverages of collision and comprehensive to cover your own vehicle. In case of an accident where you are at fault you would need collision coverage to have your own insurance policy pay for the repairs to your car, minus the deductible amount.
Your property damage liability part of your policy covers you if your car damages someone else's property. Usually it is their car, but it could be a fence, a house or any other property damaged in an accident. The property damage coverages pay for the claim placed by the person whose property you damaged, not your own damages sustained in the accident.
Personal injury protection covers within the specified limits, the medical, hospital and funeral expenses of the insured, others in his vehicles and pedestrians struck by him. The basic coverage for the insured's own injuries on a first-party basis, without regard to fault. So if you received bodily injuries as a result of the accident then your PIP portion of your policy could be used.
