According to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) if you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must complete a minor consent form if you want to purchase and title a vehicle.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany you when you appear in front of the Clerk of Courts title office staff to have a vehicle titled in your name in Ohio. The forms are available at the OH Title Office.
So in Ohio if you are 16 years old you can get a car titled in your name but you will need a parent or legal guardian to sign forms with you.
